Liquid cinema makes a splash

GRAB your friends, grab your kids, pack your picnic rugs and head down to the Parramatta River Foreshore to experience Parramatta’s new cinematic experience, Liquid Cinema.

Every second Saturday night in March and April, Parramatta City Council will show a range of family-friendly films on a giant outdoor movie screen, with the River as the spectacular backdrop.

Parramatta Lord Mayor, Cr John Chedid, said Liquid Cinema is a popular event, drawing hundreds of families each year.

“It’s a great opportunity for people to come together for a fun and in-expensive night out. With movies scheduled to start at 5.30pm, it’s perfect for families with young children who need to be home in time for bed,” Cr Chedid said.

“We have organised deckchairs, bean bags, tables and chairs for the audience’s comfort and enjoyment. If the kids get restless, they can play some games of totem tennis.

“Each week has its own theme. I encourage families to come dressed up as their favourite characters, particularly for the Musicals and Super-villains and Heroes week,” Cr Chedid said.

Liquid Cinema will feature two movies each night. There will be a 45-minute intermission between films so that audiences can enjoy snacks from the nearby food vendors and relax to live music.
