Construction of the rail line by the NSW Government and North West Rail Link contractors will intensify and there will be flow-on effects for residents and businesses near future railway stations like Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Norwest, Showground, Castle Hill and Cherrybrook, she aid.
“Early next month we’re going to see the temporary closure of western access to Brookhollow Avenue in Norwest Business Park so that Transport for NSW and North West Rail Link contractors can get on with the job of building the rail line,” Mayor Byrne said.
“This means that businesses in Norwest will have to re-think how they operate. They will have to enter and exit Brookhollow via the eastern intersection with Norwest Boulevarde which is near the Atlas building.”
“Obviously this will have flow-on effects around the Business Park. We have to be prepared to put up with some temporary inconvenience to get this fantastic piece of infrastructure.”
“Businesses could look at options like staggering work hours. Council has just moved in to Norwest Business Park and Management have offered staff the option of staggering their start and finish times to help lessen the impact on the Business Park. The closure is expected to last 3-4 months.”
Tunnel boring machines are scheduled to go into the ground this year and Mayor Byrne said she was looking forward to seeing more signs of progress.
“The more movement we see on construction, the sooner we will be able to catch a train in, our and around the Sydney Hills.”
Mayor Byrne said that some of the more recent signs of progress were the installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Glenhope and Castle Hill Rd near the proposed Cherrybrook Station and a new access road for Castle Hill Showground.
