ALDI TO OPEN AT SYDNEY BUSINESS PARK

Chain pays $4.5KM for site

GERMAN discount supermarket chain, Aldi, is joining an increasing number of well-known retailers in the $350 million Sydney Business Park, in Marsden Park.

ALDI has paid more than $4.5 million for an 8048-square- metre site in the first stage of the masterplanned 256-hectare park in north-west Sydney.

The store is expected to open early next calendar year.

The business park already includes IKEA, Costco, Bunnings, Masters Home Improvement, Home Hub, Swire Cold Storage, Lindt, McDonald's and Shell.

Aldi, which opened its first store in Marrickville in Sydney's inner west in 2001, now has more than 370 stores in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and the ACT, with plans for outlets in SA and WA early in the next calendar year.
