DEVELOPERS LIKE LIVERPOOL'S FAST TRACK

Forum attracts 125 investors

LIVERPOOL is becoming a fast city that is on the move for the future of the South West, as outlined in a forum that attracted more than 125 investors, developers and government officials.

Central to Liverpool’s open for business forum was unveiling the council’s FastTrack planning approval online mechanism that will see approval times slashed to just four days.

The forum, held in Casula Powerhouse late last month, was opened by the Minister for Industry, Resources and Energy, Anthony Roberts and hosted by Mayor Ned Mannoun.

“It’s an exciting time to be investing in Liverpool,” Mayor Ned Mannoun said.  “Liverpool is the regional city for the Great South West and is emerging as a key player in Western Sydney’s rise as the economic engine room of the state and the nation.”

Minister Roberts said other councils should look at the way that Liverpool is preparing for its
future.

“This government is excited that Liverpool has a vision and a plan for their area that is considerate, supportive and sensitive to their community,” Mr Roberts said.

Guests learnt about the trends and opportunities in Liverpool from a forum which included the Mayor and CEO of Liverpool Council Carl Wulff, and a panel of experts which included:

Carolyn McNally, Secretary of the Department of Planning and Environment Nerida Conisbee, National Director – Research, Colliers International Malcolm Gunning, President, Real Estate Institute of NSW Theo Psychogios, Partner – Financial Advisory, Deloitte

“We wanted to provide interested businesses with insights into Liverpool from experts in the field as well as what Council is doing to stimulate growth,” Clr Mannoun said.
